Acorns is a investment platform similar to Stash where you add funds to your account and either keep it as a savings or invest it to help you grow. You are able to start with just the $5 you get for signing up. You can set up the account to only take round-ups from card purchases, automatic withdrawal for as little as $5 or you can transfer a lump sum whenever you want. So far, I’ve saved $9.78 and I’ve only invested the free $5 I received for signing up. Check out the video below for more info.
How do the round-ups work?
When you link a credit or debit card to your Acorns account, they track the spare change from your transactions and make it available for you to invest. Simply choose what you would like to invest, or change your settings to automatically invest round-ups after each purchase.
Remember, save a portion of your check like it’s a bill and you won’t be so tempted to spend it. This app helps you save where you least expect it, keeping you on track with your goals.
