National Consumer Panel is one of those companies that have been around for years and partnered with the Nielsen company. You know, that one that one that measures data on cable tv views. They are global and measure data for several different reasons, including brand marketing. For this particular program you scan everything you buy and transmit the data to the company. You get rewards points for scanning every purchase every week. Reward points can also be earned by completing optional surveys about what you buy and shopping habits. Periodically they offer gift card promotions for keeping track of what you eat. You enter the sweepstakes by transmitting a shopping scan at least once a week. After your first transmission, for each additional trips you transmit that week you will earn wheel spins. These spins will offer you a % of bonus points on your next transmission.
There are 2 different ways you can scan your purchases. If you have a smartphone, you can opt at signup to use the app to scan all purchases. If you don’t have a smartphone or are not comfortable using it you can ask to use a handheld scanner which they will mail free of charge. This scanner gets hooked up to your internet to transmit the shopping data once a week. I have used this program first with the handheld, then with the NCP app and I personally prefer the app. There are more features on it, easier to read and transmit my purchases. The handheld didn’t have the bonus wheel nor was I able to redeem my points for gift cards on it.
